How to reach us

The Betacell Neogenesis lab is part of the Diabetes Research Center and located at the Medical Campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

By train:

There is no main railway station near the university campus. If you arrive by train, please get off at Brussel Noord/Bruxelles Nord and take the bus 14 to terminus UZ-Brussel.

By subway:

There is no subway station near the university campus. From station Simonis take bus 13 or 14 to terminus UZ-Brussel.

By car:

Take EXIT 9 of the expressway 'Ring' (RO) around Brussels and follow the signs UZ-Brussel (or AZ-VUB). Once arrived on the university campus, follow the signs to Faculty of Medicine.
A system of electrical bollards is in use at Campus Jette to limit parking and traffic nuisance. The system works on the basis of number plate recognition. This means that cars with a registered number plate are able to get on and off the campus without any problem. People whose number plate is not immediately recognised can register via the intercom.

By airplane:

Brussels Airport is the largest airport in Belgium. Most international flights arrive here. Take a Taxi to the VUB Medical Campus in Jette or take a train to Brussel Noord/Bruxelles Nord and subsequently bus 14 to terminus UZ-Brussel.
The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Up to 4 trains an hour connect the airport to Brussels.

Attention when asking for a Taxi:

There are two VUB campuses. Explicitly ask for the Medical Campus located in Jette (North West of Brussels).
